Sorry for the delay I'm blaming Ninja for not posting last weeks encounter!
Week 3 was by far a million miles ahead of the Basin noodle house and this week we visited Yeung Shing at the very top of Willis street. We also had a special guest come along and despite his hangover he was great company, Lachie Bowker.
The price was decent and the quantity was enough to fill my belly (Que), but we are here to talk about the quality and I must say that it was good enough for a repeat visit in the future.
Yeung Shing gives you the option to eat-in and that is exactly what we did.
Price: $12
Rating:6.25 (I said 6.5, ninja said 6 so Uncle made us Compromise)
The Sweet and Sour pork was a decent portion, it had both Uncle and Me (Q) all full up and it was cooked well, the pork was crispy on the outside and tender in the middle. The sauce balanced well but there was a lil somen somen missing. It tasted like your average sauce but there wasn't much zing to it. It was accompanied by pineapple, onion and capsicum (the way it should be Basin Noodle House) and if not for them the meal might just have flopped. Ninja said the flavour of the sauce dissipated real quick!
Regardless of the zing missing it was very enjoyable, good food, good company what more could you ask for? (that was rhetorical) FYI, they make a mean fried chicken and rice.
